to modify that exhibit in 2014 or 2015 to add a Red Marker mannequin in
Airborne fatigues and red beret.
Fort Benning, GA, is the site of the new Infantry Museum. In 2013, we
jointly dedicated a large monument commemorating the service of the Red
Hats and Red Markers of Team 162 and of the Vietnamese Airborne. We
intend to create another Vietnamese Airborne monument at Fort Belvoir,
VA, whenever this yet to be built Army Museum obtains funding.
In a project initiated in late 2013, we are now collecting funds to in-
stall a plaque in the Southeast Asia Pavilion at the United States Air Force
Academy in Colorado Springs, CO. The plaque will headline the role of
the Red Markers, but will prominently honor the Red Hats and the elite
Vietnamese Airborne, as can be seen in this prototype.
We look forward to seeing all of you who can attend the 2014 Reunion
of our Society to be held in Tampa, FL, on 29 May through 1 June. And, I
will see you at the Airborne reunion in Austin, TX. Nhay Du!
